Description

In many organizations, at least some employees work remotely, which means that leadership must also exist in the online environment. During the pandemic, remote working became a new norm, and organizations need to quickly respond to the challenges that arise. In also other ways than making office time mandatory.

Today’s leaders need to respond to the challenge of nurturing the high-quality collaboration and performance of remote teams, and supporting the career development, motivation and engagement of individuals working remotely.

Succeeding in remote leadership requires understanding the restrictions and possibilities of the versatile online landscape, and developing new skills of encountering others online.

This 2-day course is designed for leaders who need to manage teams and individuals remotely. The course will help you overcome restrictions of interaction technologies, create a better connection to your employees, and thereby be more potent as a leader also in online environments.

Target group

Hybrid Leadership is designed for leaders. You can be from any field of business, or from any type of organization. You can join the course as an individual, or as an entire leadership team.

Course structure

Day 1. The neural basis of interaction, and the specific interaction requirements of leadership
  • The evolution and neuroscience of interaction
    • What is interaction on the level of the brain?
    • What skills are needed for creating trust, and in motivation and coaching of employees?
  • Should this meeting have been an email?
    • How do different interaction tools support different leadership goals
Day 2. Transforming online interaction
  • The unique case of online interaction
    • Why is online interaction different from face-to-face encounters?
    • How do different interaction technologies allow or inhibit our interaction mechanisms?
  • Online leadership in action
    • Which interaction technologies are best for your team and organization?
    • Which skills are most essential for successful online leadership and how to develop them?

Methodology

Hybrid Leadership will take place over Zoom, and utilize our proprietary software for exercises. The two training days contain interactive sessions, short expert lectures and Q&As, as well as assignments that extend learning from the course to real life.
